Dr. Dubravko Babic manages the Etanvie Technologies Team. Dr. Babic is a
technology expert with over twenty years experience in high-speed fiber-optic
and electronic component design and manufacturing, and with business experience
in technology licensing and running private high-technology companies.
In 2003, Dr. Babic co-founded and is still active in Group4 Labs, a
manufacturer of diamond substrates for high-power electronic and optical devices.
In 1999, Dr. Babic founded Alvésta Corporation (a manufacturer of 10Gb/s parallel-optic
transceivers) where he served as the company’s first CEO. Between 1995 and 1999,
Dr. Babic was a Member of Technical Staff at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories in Palo Alto
leading long-wavelength vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) development.
In 1995, at the University of California, Santa Barbara, he fabricated the world’s
first room-temperature continuous-wave operating long-wavelength VCSEL.
Dr. Babic received his Dipl. Ing. Degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Zagreb, Croatia, and his Ph. D. degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from University of California Santa Barbara. Dr. Babic has over 100 publications / conference presentations, eighteen patents, and has been awarded the Michael Lunn Outstanding Contributor Award at the 1995 Indium Phosphide and Related Materials
Conference.
